I've been watching the "Son Of A Guitar Man" video - what a wonderful combination of your voice and Duane's guitar! I only wish we'd heard more of you two together over the years. I've never listened to a Duane Eddy song that didn't make me feel good. I really loved the 1987 album and still listen to it all the time. It's like therapy. "Theme For Something Really Important"!
Please thank your husband for all of his music, and thank you for letting us hear your voice. That is a great video!
Deed thank you for the great contribution you make to the GDP. Your posts are always interesting, informative & you have the gift of making people feel welcome - especially newbies like me! You seem to have a treasury of great stories & photos - which i always enjoy.
Thanks for making this a great place to hang out.
best wishes - gagsy
Everything I listen to can be linked back to Duane. I bought my first Chet Atkins album because of Duane's version of Trambone. I tried jazz because of Quiniella and Route No. 1, folk music because of Songs of Our Heritage, and country music because of Twang a Country Song.
The thing I always like about Duane is the same thing I like about Eric Clapton and George Harrison. They all do their thing without drawing attention to themselves. They enjoy playing and appreciate their fans.
I just found the different videos on You Tube and enjoy them very much.
Hi, Deed. Just thought I'd say howdy, and I do enjoy your posts on the GDP. I consider you one of the anchors of this joint, and you're appreciated probably more than you know. Take care, and thanks.
Hello Deed, hope you and your family are all well.
Did you ever find any information on
the Abbate family you were searching for?
I am a huge fan of Duanes music and your singing. Wish I had some recordings of you. Take care of yourself and Duane and thanks.
Deed - So glad that Duane and yourself are coming back to the U.K.- My son Chris and I have tickets for the London concert.Duane has given so much pleasure across the world with his music.- With such an interesting life, when will they make a movie,of his unique contribution to the culture of Rock n Roll?
Hi- Deed from the Duane Eddy Circle I understand that suggestions for a play list would be welcome ,for Duanes London concert.Jet Harris plays Duanes music and the complement could be returned with "Diamonds" a superb instrumental- I bet Jet would be over the moon !!-Further to that a medley of Rock n Roll songs, originally by the likes of Eddie Cochran ,Buddy Holly & Elvis - would be back to basics. - Thanks- Les -from Warwick- by the way there is a great venue just down the road at Leamington called the "Assembly" - Martha Reeves and the Vandellas were there a few weeks ago.
