- Unusual factory features
Extending along the middle of the inside of the back, from the very bottom to where the inside of the cutaway intrudes down into the body, there is what has been referred to as 'waffle bracing.' It is a solid piece of wood (not plywood or laminate) glued to the inside of the back, more than three inches wide and about 7/16ths inches thick, and it has routed out grooves, both lengthwise and crosswise, forming a grid or 'waffle' pattern. The grooves are about 3/16ths inches wide and about 1/4th inch deep. The rows of rectangular thicker areas are approximately 7/8th inches squares. - There's a sound post under the bridge, not 'trestle bracing.'
