Modifications

This is a 59 Clipper made in Brooklyn that (for reasons beyond my understanding, since probably the owner ended up paying more money than actually buying a new one!) was in the early 60's upgraded with a pair of the then new Filter Tron pickups with lines of screws and PN 2892371 engraved and its circuitry and needed knob, 4 goldplated G arrow knobs, a Bigsby B-C6 V cutout, Van Ghent tuners and stripped the paint and finished in 6120 Orange. The end job makes it very similar to the early Nashville. Logo and horshoe handcarved and serial Clipper neck with dot inlays.Luckily due to the changes and upgrades it was not very valuable for picky-freaky collectors and I paid only £950 in 2008 for this instrument who keeps delivering odes of joy screaming like lightnin with my rockabilly trio or getting warm, fat tones when playing jazz and blues. Just that Gretsch sound I guess!
