I acquired this guitar from another member of the Gretsch Pages in October 2008. He just hadn't quite bonded with it and it wasn't being played as much as another G6120N that he owned. But, this was my first Dynasonic hollowbody and I loved the tone from the very first note that I played on it.
While Duane Eddy was an endorser of that other "G" brand guitar, Gretsch produced this model as something of an unofficial Duane Eddy style guitar. While not a specific recreation of his G6120, Gretsch did use a brass nut, like Duane's, Dynasonic pickups, and the color was not the usual Gretsch orange, presumably because Duane Eddy's guitar was a bit deeper hue than the standard Gretsch orange.
So, in 2012, while he was at the NAMM Show, I asked Duane to sign the pickguard, which he was kind of enough to do for me. So, now, I have my Duane Eddy "Signature" model G6120.
