Middle HiloTron added.
Pickup selector and tone switch operate normally on bridge and neck pickups. Master volume controls all 3 pickups. Neck volume pot works normally. Bridge volume pot also controls middle pickup.
The former "standby" switch has been rewired to switch the middle pickup into the circuit as follows: "down" position: guitar operates as factory-wired with bridge and neck pups; "middle" position: bridge pickup is engaged (along with pickup(s) engaged by factory pickup switch; "up" position: middle pickup ONLY.
Thus all 7 possible combinations of 3 pickups are available.
The bright chirp of HiloTrons suggested a slightly brittle Strat to me, and it was obvious this guitar wanted to have the third pickup.
It provides exactly the performance expected.
