Professional-grade spruce-topped Model 40 Hawaiian guitar meant to be played with a slide lap-style. The "frets" are actually just plastic lines inlaid flush with the fretboard. The diamond-shaped fretboard inlays and headstock inlays are real mother-of-pearl. The tuning machines are open-backed Grovers but with tortoise-shell buttons (so cool). Serial number 7195 stamped into top edge of headstock would indicate 1953 but Jay Scott writes that these were manufactured around the time of WWII.
