Your guitar is a Gretsch Synchromatic model 100, considered “war-era” but the late serial number on yours places it closer to 1946. Nice finish on this guitar!
The finish is not great in person. Thanks for the info I was trying to match it up the best I could. I remember the tailpiece but it didn’t look like a 1954 it did look more like the older ones.
Yes… that tailpiece is not original to the guitar. It would have had a “chromatic” (harp-style) tailpiece… one of the few art deco elements this more utilitarian version of the Synchro 100 was allowed to have.
