Was missing its pickguard when I got it. I'm assuming at one point a previous owner removed it to show off more of the flame maple.

I purchased this guitar in July 2015 from Ritchie's Music Center in Rockaway NJ. It seemed to need a neck reset. I was hesitant to force the truss rod, due to its age. (They briefly tried adjusting it in the store but didn't believe me about the reverse thread, so I asked them to stop trying.) I brought it with me to Curt Wilson/Old School Guitar Repair, who was working on a Tennessean for me. He was a lot less hesitant – he just went at it. The truss rod adjustment took it right back into position, no reset required at all.

Beutiful guitar. That flame is just gorgeous, if showing it off is the reason the original owner took it off, I can see why.

Cool to see the rarely encountered “bakelite” Melita bridge body. That and the 2-tone gold finish on the G-cut tailpiece peg this guitar as a ‘54 model year example, even before you see serial number!

But have the vintage Dyna’s really been replaced with modern DeArmond 2000 units???

Nope - original Dynasonics, bad menu click. I updated it.
