Saddle is straight bone. Note sure about bridge- it's painted black. Could be mahogany? Fretboard is inlaid with diamond-shaped pearloid at the 5th, 7th, 9th and 12th fret.

Fret slots were cut, and inlaid with what looks like binding-type material. They are level with the fretboard, since the guitar is made for playing with a steel.

I was on my way home after buying a Model 1 Weissenborn and stopped at another guitar store. They had this beautiful Gretsch, so I double-dipped. What can I say- I 'm weak, and the Gretsch was a relative bargain (he rationalizes!).

The Weissenborn is clean and classic all Koa, with a very rich and sparkly sound.

The Grestch sounds huge, with the wonderful warmth of a mahogany and spruce guitar. Must emphasize how BIG it sounds. And, it has, arguably, the coolest headstock overlay EVER.
