The Model/Serial number sticker on the inside of the guitar states that this is a model G9555 and that the serial number is CAXR166542. I am not sure where this was made. From what I can tell, the pickup is actually a DeArmond Rhythem Chief 1000. I honestly can't tell if this was a factory job or an add-on by the previous owner. The alignment of the arm that holds the pickup in place is not perfectly aligned to the surface of the neck... The finish on the guitar is a dull semi-gloss - almost flat - finish. The tortoise shell pick guard has a single clear plastic volume knob. Over-all the guitar is in great shape and appears to have been played very little.

My son had been looking for a Takamine for a couple of years. I happened to walk in to one of our local music stores, and they had just had one placed on consignment about two hours before I got there. The same guy had brought in a Gretsch New Yorker. The sound coming from this New Yorker is amazing. I ended up buying both guitars.
