According to Ed Ball this may be the FIRST 6121 made.

What is that cool little tremolo thing between the bridge and tail? Does it work? Where do you find these?

This is in fact one of the earliest documented 6121 models from the debut batch. The Bigsby has been replaced with the longer style G-cut tailpiece, more common to the larger (archtop) Gretsch models. The correct G-cut tailpiece would be the shorter version, typically found on all the other Jet style Gretsch models of this era. Finding a vintage example of those in gold plate is next to impossible!
