Modifications

Only thing I am aware of is it did not have a pick guard when I got it, to the best of my knowledge all other components are factory original. Original pickups and wiring harness bit the dust long ago, I have replaced with harness and TV-HT pickups from TV Jones. Bigsby has Gretsch by Bigsby logo. Also replaced original tuners with Stewmac Golden Age restoration tuners.

I was going through a divorce in 1975, had no guitars left. My mom bought this for me used from the same gentleman I got my first guitar from as a kid- Chuck Atkins of Chuck Atkins World of Music. I could tell it had been through a lot of gigs and jam sessions due to the finish on the back of the neck being worn almost to the natural finish. Electronics had some grit and hiss, but I still enjoyed playing it. Due to remarrying and raising a family, it got stored for many years. Other guitars I pawned over the years (school clothes, shoes, braces, etc.) but never this one! Now I'm retired, and I'm refurbishing it and looking forward to playing it again. Also in memory of my wonderful mom who passed in 2013. She'd be tickled to know I still have it.

A great tribute to your mom, enjoy in good health.
