Decided to sell one of my Rickenbacker 325's and in my ad, I specified that the only trades that I would consider were a Country Gentleman or a Tennessean/Tennessee Rose with HiLoTrons (George Harrison model).
I placed the ad, and then the next day, I came across an ad in the Rickenbacker facebook page, asking if anyone would be willing to trade a Rickenbacker for a G6119-1962HT. I figure that this was too coincidental not to follow it up, so I contacted the guy who posted it.
Turns out that he was in Rochester, NY, and I am in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada, so it was quite a distance. But this guy nearly jumped through the screen when he saw the pictures that I sent him, of my Rickenbacker. He said that he just had to have it..
Given the cost discrepancies between the two instruments, he sweetened the deal, and included a Hofner 500/1 bass, along with the G6119-1962HT. He then proceeded to drive from Rochester to Toronto, and did the trade. He was ecstatic that he finally got his "holy grail" guitar, and I think I did pretty well with this deal too. A mint condition Tennessee Rose, along with a mint condition 500/1.
