I replaced the Blacktop Filter'Trons with Gold Plated TV Jones Classic pickups in September of 2020. It significantly improved the overall tone of this guitar.

I bought this guitar as a diversion, after a full spinal fusion surgery. It was kind of a reward for just surviving the ordeal. It was just what the doctor ordered, and it opened my eyes to these remarkable instruments. As I recovered from the surgery, I was bitten by the Gretsch bug, and now have a second one, a G6131T Firebird Jet.
