Some type of string dampers between where neck connects t body and first pickup.

Pickups have number stamped on each one. 2892371.

String dampers (2) with knobs that raise and lower do function. dampers are pretty dry root.

Was in a closet for 30 years. Pickups do not functions, but are in good shape. No damage to guitar. Knobs, pickups and nuts are a gold color. Has case, but no Gretsch markings.

Your Gent is a 1966 model year example. The pickups are… a Supertron in the neck position and a Filtertron in the bridge position. The string dampeners (mute system) was standard equip. starting in ‘62.
