Modifications

Lifted the Bigsby off the body with 1/4 inch spacers to correct the steep string angle on bridge, strings no longer rub on bridge frame and no longer hang, and all is good. It is too bad that a simple engineering design flaw can make these fairly decent and affordable guitars have horrible tuning issues.

Bought it used at CG in 2016 for a decent price, needed a simple fret fix and Bigsby face lift. Plays and sounds great now, for the money.

Where can I get a period correct pickguard with the Gretsch logo without breaking the bank?

Paul Setzer is the go to guy for pickguards. I have the same guitar, by the way.

I have a similar model and made the pickguard from an electromatic 6120 type that I bought on eBay for 18 bucks.
