My dad picked this up in a five and dime in Vermont in 1978. I was three at the time, and I remember it was hanging way, way up high - the guy had to stand on his tippy toes to reach it....
Not much after that, my dad hid it underneath a pile of clothes in the back of our van while we were parked in the big city. When we returned to the van, one of us kids, not knowing about the guitar, did a swan dive onto the clothes and popped off at least two pieces of the bracing. My dad is primarily a fiddle player, but this was his go to guitar for twenty years after that. He never had it repaired, though - Clunk, clunk everytime it gets turned over. Finally going to get the attention it needs next month.
