Modifications

Some bracing has been re-glued (not the cleanest job), the bridge appears to have been reset at least once, and someone made the grain in the top 'pop' by highlighting parts of it with a sharp instrument--seems to have been a somewhat common practice in the past.

Unusual factory features

This Castilian (I believe that is the model) has tortoise shell binding. It sports the 'Gretsch American' brand on the back of the headstock and is x-braced. Hoping that someone out there may be able to help me learn more about it!

Unfortunately I don't know too much; I acquired it from a friend and local vintage dealer in MN.

Cool little Castilian… I have two. The first “Gretsch branded” guitar model.
