Modifications

Everything seems stock. I added a bone strap button on the neck.

Unlike many guitars as old as this, both the binding and the pick guard are in remarkably good shape.

Unusual factory features

Although made in the Brooklyn factory on the same bench as the other Electro IIs, it was branded as a Bacon Belmont to be sold in the Montgomery Wards catalog.

This guitar found me. I had just won raffle for a a red sparkly new Electromatic at the Balto roundup. Mark Zimin, the photographer was there with this old beauty and offered me a trade. After some obligatory hemming and hawing, I jumped. She came home with me that night and we haven't been apart since.

The action near the nut was a tad high so I took it to my luthier and he filed the nut down to spec and it now plays better than any guitar I've ever had. These very early Dynastic pickups are at once powerful and have a lovely tone.
