None !!. at first I thought it strange the forward pick guard screw was a Phillips head and the rear screw was a slotted head ,however after looking at other examples of orig., untouched #6117's on line, this was apparently how they did it. and of course the gold pick guard has the usual slight cracking at the fastener locations.
- Unusual factory features
the Fred Gretsch sticker visible thru the upper " F " hole has no model # stamped , just the serial # 39175. obviously an anniversary model from the chrome plate just under the gold " Gretsch inlay on the head stock w/ a n engraved diamond. unfortunately, I had to reset the neck at one point and found there was a relatively good size screw thru the neck heel into the body covered by a moulded wood plug . I KNOW this was a factory item as it was apparent this instrument has never been touched up or refinished, not to mention I aquired it from the orig. owner who's dad bought it for him in 1961 to take guitar lessons , after a month or 2 he gave up, put it back in the orig. silver sparkle case ,put it under his bed and never took it back out until he gave it to me 15 yrs ago in trade for some work I did for him . Just thought it was strange to find the neck both " glued & screwed " with out a doubt this is how it came from the factory.
