I got locked up in 2014 for arguing with a fellow musicIan about how he's going to screw his life up because he was drinking in public. Sure enough the cops came and we were both arrested over his one opened single beer can. The cops ended up breaking my epiphone les Paul studio by slamming the trunk of their cruiser on it. So, I end up in jail, and somewhere another inmate began talking to me about swapping id's and him going out as myself and me waiting until the next day to explain how they let the wrong person out and "why haven't I been released yet?" (I thought it would make a great song and he promised me a 1981 Gibson Les Paul, being from Kalamazoo born in '81 it sounded like a dream come true. [which I never recieved]) So I get caught and they add an escape charge. While I was serving that sentence I ordered a sweetwater catalog, reviewing every guitar they had to every minute detail; being as that was my only true escape to the outside from the harsh realities of being on the inside. And after much research I had my mind made up. The Gretchen G5620T-CB Electromatic in Georgia Green!!! It even had a bigsby tailpiece, reminiscent of my hometown Kalamazoo on it! So a year comes and goes, and this year (last week to the day) my girlfriend buys it for me and says, "Merry Christmas Baby!" _ and holy wow it hasn't fully sunk in yet! Thank you Gretsch for making such an excellent instrument and keeping me free while I was under lock and chain! - Merry Christmas from me to you! - Rich Markle :]
