Just wondering about this guitars serial number (based on it’s features)… if the words “made in USA” appear next to the serial number on the back of the headstock, then it’s a 1968 model year example.

It`s hard to make sure of the first number, looks more like 5 or even 3. Even the 3rd number could be 0 not 6. Definitely no “made in USA” text.

The serial number on the back of headstock is carved/ embossed not printed. What do you experts say is it ´64 or later model?

Looks just like other ‘68 examples I’ve seen, that’s why I jumped to that conclusion. But if the number is embossed (and not printed) then it’s no late then early ‘66. I am aware how difficult it is to read those sometimes. You could always check a pot for a date code.
