Saw this guitar for a year in an Austrian website for second hand things. The price dropped every two months. One day I could not resist any longer, for this money you would not get anything alike - so I bought it.
I wondered what was wrong with this guitar that the guy would sell it for such little money. I had nightmares that it would be probably a piece of s . . . ! To my surprise the guitar arrived in a condition like fresh out of the factory crate. And it plays and sounds great!
So I wrote a mail to the guy to find out the story behind it.
He told me that he once had to work in Rumania for his firm. As he had to stay for a few months, he decided to buy a guitar to keep him entertained. He first thought of a cheap Squier or something similar, but instead he stumbled into this Gretsch. The dealer was happy that someone would buy this guitar, which had been hanging in the store for a while, so he made a good price.
Sometimes you are lucky . . .
