Modifications

had a custom pickguard made to comply with the catalog picture, except I had it trimmed in gold like the '72 super chet was--looks so much better with the new pickguard--also installed a Compton Brass compenstated rocking bar type bridge to make the Bigsby work better--stays in tune better now

Unusual factory features

very early model deluxe chet--had a D'Angelico style pickguard, not sure it that was original or not--the catalog showed just a black super chet style pickguard with 'gretsch deluxe chet' logo

2nd owner--original owner ordered it from Resnick's Music store in North Carolina--he was the 'resident' Chet picker in that area--now passed away, and I purchased it from a guy selling his estate for the family--super nice condition, and no binding rot, the original blue case also in fine shape.. only Deluxe Chet I have ever owned, and its a real 'keeper'--
