I clearly don't know what I have here. It was a relative's guitar found in storage. He died in the late 1980's and it hasn't been touched since. In fact it was still stringed and in the case (not a Gretcsh case). His daughter has pictures and stories of him playing the guitar in the early to mid 60's.

The serial # is indeed unusual. The label can be seen through the f hole -- and the bottom is partially torn, however, the tear does not obscure the serial in anyway.

Not the most useful listing we’ve seen… are you having a laugh with us Gruvnor?

Is that the real SN? Certainly unusual.

This is clearly not a 1957 example. If you tell us where the serial is located, we can probably nail it down for certain.

The fretboard is rosewood.

The nut is bone.

That is a HiLoTron pickup

… and it’s a single cutaway hollowbody too. If that IS the actual serial number then I apologize for my snarky post (which I apparently can’t edit). Interesting that this #12345 would be on a 60s guitar, as it corresponds to 1953. The style of label would tell us a lot. Can we please see a photo of it?

I have a 1958 6124 serial # 28950 in excellent condition with original case and so is everything else except strings. Need appraisal for insurance purpose and could use some help on this. Thank you.
