stock at the moment. Bridge and bridge base likely will be replaced; verdict on pickups still out.
- Unusual factory features
there was not a proper option on the 'fretboard markers' field to accurately indicate the fleur-de-lis inlay of this model; chose the next best thing, but see photo for true representation.
a rare Terada reissue of the 70s Super Chet, known here in its reissue era as a Super Gretsch. From research, these were only made from 1998 to 2002. According to the serial number scheme, this was made in May 2000, though the "O.K.Card" gives a dated signature on the checklist as 5-31-01. If the serial numbering scheme is accurate, this was the 28th unit of this model. 28 units in two years is not a heavy production output, and there's no telling if that production rate increased or decreased from that point forward. A relatively rare duck indeed.
Intrigued by this models specs but offput by the original Super Chet's ascending price tag and pickguard mounted controls, I started searching for the reissue. Found one about 2000 miles away via internet search.
