This Jet formerly owned and modded by GretschPages member 6stings and bought from him by me recently in June 2014. Admin notified of transfer of ownership to my name shortly after that date. Serial number is JT050530XX.

Maybe I’ll get the ball rolling myself. If you’re interested, there are a couple more pics of this guitar under Meet And Greet where I introduce myself in the thread entitled “Aussie newly arriving by Jet”.

I love these Pearl Jets. Just wish they came with Dynas. Such cool guitars, though.

My previous Gretsch was a Black Penguin equipped with Dynas. Fantastic clear tone and no hum at all that I could hear anyway. A soloist’s lead guitar that I just couldn’t do justice to…so she went to a better home. Now I’m more at ease playing rhythm on my newly-acquired Pearl Jet. She’s capable of taking a starring role, too, but it’s just that I’m not unfortunately. As Dirty Harry said: “A man’s got to know his limitations.”.

I may have made a mistake with the specs of the pickups. They’re stamped “PAT.PEND. 2892371” which would make them HS Filter’Trons, not TV Jones Classics, wouldn’t it?

Sorry - wrong again. Stamped “U.S.PAT. 2892371”.

That makes two of us, stratman.

I just need verification from someone here on the Filter’Trons issue above as I’ve gone ahead and corrected the specs.

05 Jet would have HS FilterTrons, yes.

Thanks. I thought so.

The stock pickups on stock Pearls are FilterTrones, yes, but these are not stock, they are TV Jones Classics in ‘Pat’ housings. TV has made some Classics in these housings, they are pretty rare to find, I believe. Just pull them out you will see their bottoms: TV Jones! I bought them from my friend Knavel, a TGP member.

Ahh, thanks for the clarification, 6stings. I’ve changed the pickup specs accordingly. I hope you don’t mind me adding a quote from your email: “And if you read their Ohms you will see that they are not Gretsch pickups with the same output in both positions, but balanced pair of TVs with higher Bridge output.”

Much appreciated, 6.

So, to be 100% correct, the listing should say HS FilterTrons, then note the modification under mods.

Oh, OK, guv. Will do. Thanks again.

SOLD on April 11, 2017, in Melbourne, Australia.
