According to the serial number this guitar was some type of test bed.

Although this model originated as a pre-Fender model, there were some made during the early Fender years (2003-2004). Yours has a 2003 serial number, which indicates that during the process of re-vamping the entire product line, Fender most likely ordered a few as revised prototypes, in order to determine the feasibility of continuing or dropping the model. Hence, the reason for a prototype serial number so late in this particular model’s life run. I’ve also seen similar scenarios with early FMIC Tennesseans and Anniversary models.
Nice guitar, nice mods.
