Bought this one, with plans to put Filtertrons in it, and make a sunburst 6120 type from it.
But it's just too minty perfect. So I'll be putting Filters on my 1st 6117 (also my 1st Gretsch), as it's the somewhat weaker of the two.
- Unusual factory features
An eBay find, came with mint condition OHC, all original paperwork, + extras.
This Annie is in nearly NOS condition. Definitely well cared for, spent it's entire life either in the closet, or under the bed. Even the case doesn't have a single scratch!
It's like stepping back in time.
Was searching around for another Double Annie to convert to Filters, but had to fit my budget. Thebay offered a few original sunburst Annies, (some as cheap as $365!) but those needed major work.
Stumbled across this one, being sold by the son of the original owner, on behalf of his dad who is now in his 80s. Amazing feeling to know I'm but the 2nd owner in this guitar's 45 year history.
Maybe next year add a third, and convert to Dynas! I LOVE vintage sunburst Double Annies.
