There is a "break" in the seal where the heel of the neck joins the body. About 1/10th" separation, and the action is very high I think, because of this. Any thoughts as to whether it is worth it to repair this guitar?

There is a split where the heel of the neck meets the body. I want to know if this guitar is worth repairing. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hello to you sir with the cool but broken New Yorker. Did unrelenting string tension during long term storage (maybe in a case) along with the subsequent drying out of the guitar pull the neck and separate that heel? If so the guitar face could also start to crack if such an issue is not addressed. I had that happen to my dad’s Martin acoustic, bummer. The GDP member and luthier Curt has done much good work with all manner of breakages. You could private message him and chat it out. There are threads with photos of his work as well as threads with pics of work from other competent GDP luthiers. Indeed that split should be fixable by anyone competent and maybe close to where you live. Hope this helps.
