Opportunities to get your hands certain guitars here in Oz can be limited if you are after something specific. I had been looking for this guitar for over 10 years. Well a Silver Falcon with certain details this one has like vertical headstock logo and hump blocks. I also wanted a tone knob model, not switch. This one is 2.5" deep body with sound post not trestle bracing. It plays and sounds really nice and open. Even though many seem to hate the Pre-Fender Gretschs with thicker tops and backs this one truly is a killer sounding and playing guitar and no heavier then the current falcons. I assume mine is 5 ply not 3, it is a very late Pre Fender model only months before the official change over. I don't have any attachment to vintage specs or anything like that, I just like guitars that play nice and sound great, That fact it looks amazing well that's the cream on top. I'd like to add a Bigsby B6C which I have since picked up for a nice price.

When my Falcon came up for sale locally (2500km's away from where I live) and I finally got it, I just hoped it would be all that I had dreamed all those years looking and waiting. I had played a lot of Falcons, Silver and White and loved the way they played but really wanted all the aesthetic details as well and was prepared to wait until I found The guitar. The good news is it has been nothing but a pleasure to own and play. I had seen a few White Falcons with everything I was after including the bigsby in my search, but I just don't like the gold. I would have definitely snapped up one in an instant if all the gold was silver like the Chris Cheney model I love those (I prefer the big 17" body over the 16") But do really like the Black so it worked out in the end.
