Modifications

i had the silly rubber grommets removed so the Bigsby makes contact with body. It allow the Bigsby to not get stuck and i no longer have to put the strings under the tension bar. The result is increased sustain and ease in changing the strings...although this can all be easily reversed.

Got it for a KILLER price on ebay...it feels like an old guitar as well. I love it. Tone to burn.

What do you mean about the Bigsby getting stuck? Do you have a thread on this forum with pictures to better explain. I have BZ 15697-071 but have not (dared not) make any mods. The only thing that bugs me is that the Bigsby seems much more tense than on my other guitars.

I think there’s a post somewhere where Billy adjusted the brake angle for best sustain. He also mention he shortens his Bigsby springs instead of getting longer ones, might explain the “stiffness”.

I’ll post a photo. The guitar just sustains so much more…no rubber in between the bigsby and the top helps greatly in tone transferral.
