This was my first "real" guitar, and is very much symbolic of a dramatic turning point in my life. I bought this at a time when everything in my life was falling apart and I'd fallen into a terrible depression and I had just started on a new career path and was very much using music as a part of my healing.
I ordered this blind (there wasn't a wide range of Gretsch's to be seen in-store where I lived at the time) and was a little worried whether I'd be happy with the pickups (I'd loved just about every proline hollowbody Gretsch I'd picked up and played to that point but hadn't tried one with HiLo's yet), but when it finally arrived and I got to try it in store I was instantly in love. It's a lovely guitar, and a lot of the staff at the awesome store I bought it fell in love with it too (one went and got a 6118T shortly after).
Meant to be for sure :) I may trade out some of my other musical gear but this one's a keeper!
