Everything on this guitar is either original, or a correct repro. The pickguard and TRC are repro. The G-String tuner was incorrect when I posted the original picture but after searching for a year and a half I found the correct tuner so it is as close to original as I can get it.

So, my '67 Gretsch Monkee's Rock 'n Roll Guitar... is now as close to stock as I can get it... the tuner for the G string was the last thing I needed to get and it was delivered today (01/21/2012)... its had the wrong tuner for close to 39 years... that tuner was the last piece of the puzzle..HOOOORAAAAY... I started looking for the tuner a year and a half ago and finally found it !!! Thanks Steve the Guitar Guy (The Benevolent Mr. Senerchia) for the tuner and and Paul Setzer for the pick guard and truss rod cover. Those were hard to find.

My father bought this guitar and an Ampeg Reverb-o-Jet Amp for me when I graduated grammer school (I still have the amp too and it sounds great) in 1972. It was my first "real" guitar and I played it at my grammer school graduation. As a kid I didn't think much of it. It got banged up a bit (pick gaurd cracked, knob went missing, tuner bent). Over the years I got other guitars and this one stayed in its case. I took it out once in a while and played it. I had it setup once in a while just to be sure it wasn't getting ruined. in spring of 2010 I saw that Paul Setzer made great repros of pick guards and TRCs so I the bug to restore it. I've replaced the Pick Guard and TRC (the original TRC was plain black).. BTW - Thank you Paul for doing such a great job!! I've replaced the missing knob, I've replaced the tailpiece because the arm was missing on mine (when I got it it was missing), and I've replaced one pickup surround. Finally in January after searching long and hard I replace the bent tuner. I have all the original parts except the bent tuner. This guitar shines when I play it. It is a beautiful thing :-)
