Some kind of graphite impregnated nut that is not mentioned in the spec sheet.
Purchased used from a seller in San Francisco in 2007 for $500 with H/S Case. At the time I thought I was overpaying a little. But I really wanted a Gretsch and there was no way to buy a new one with a kid in college. I figured it would hold me until I could afford something truly great in the Gretsch line. Turns out I have grown to love this guitar. I love the neck profile, its unusual look with the cat's eye sound holes, and the sound - especially both pups together. I can get a lot of sounds out of this guitar. The color is striking. A keeper for sure.
