5448-T Double Jet

Introduced in 2010, the 5448 Double Jet was one of several new Electromatic models that marked a serious improvement over previous Electromatic Jets.

These new Jets featured a double-cutaway, chambered basswood body and an arched maple top coupled with dual “Black Top” Filter’Tron pickups and a Bigsby B50 tailpiece. Other features include a 12-inch radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and “Hump-Block” inlays and an anchored adjustomatic bridge.

The 5448 was the gold-topped version.

Three examples are in the Gretsch-GEAR database.
