It's not really a Tune-O-Matic bridge in the case of bass, but that's the closest desription amid the options. I am second owner for this bass, the previous having had little time for play. Neglect had caused a lot of cosmetic distress in the form of oxidization/corrosion to the frets, pick-ups, and strings but some TLC brought it back to code, playing sweet and low again.

Ever since my 1966 Gretsch 6070 bass was stolen in the early 1980s, I've yearned for another. When I saw the 5123-B inthe GC sale flyer, I jumped up and down! When I finally located this one in their Glen Burnie, MD store, it was like a dream come true! Check out the Gretsch Guitar Strap in the picture - looks and feels great with this bass... Guitar Center introduced these with a flyer sent to some customers, but no other advertising or published website information. The date was just before Black Friday, 2010. Most stores - not all - got one. Retail was $799. A second shipment of slightly more than 90 of this model was issued to Guitar Center stores in late December, 2010. Some evidence points to the second shipment being issued only to stores in metro areas. Supply continues to be present at the end of 2011.

Saw this beautiful baby at my local GC and i had to have it. It plays as well as any hollow body i have ever felt and well, i may have had to put the title to my Harley Electra Glide up to secure a loan, it was well worth it! Not to mention with all the research i have done i can only find where 200 were built and one was damaged in shipping. Future collectors item for sure.....
