I love my 6119-1959. That single Powertron riding atop a big red box, with a Bigsby handle one of the few things to hold on to...I changed the stock G knob to a black chicken head. Aside from the obvious mojo factor of having a chicken head (if only in a metaphorical sense) on one's guitar, the way I have it set, using it kind of feels like using a gas pedal, rather than a knob.
That clip -- here's the link to Powertron if you missed it the first time -- was just the last chunk of a free improv I did while trying to get a good mic'd tone out of the Gretsch into my '62 Princeton. I did use some compression, as well as some Lexicon reverb; I might have used too much of the former. That's real tremolo, though, straight from a shuddering set of Marconi 6V6s.
Anyway, I'm just having so much fun with this guitar it should be illegal. And before I'm sent to bed without any dinner, I think I'll go back to wranglin' the two year old, rather than the internet.
