here is a tune that i was asked to put together. it goes back to the early 1900s. its a piano ragtime tune called NOLA. It was quite a tough one to put together without being able to read music or tabs. just had to listen to the parts and make it into a guitar style tune. its a nice foxtrot for the old timers (75+ years old)
Old ragtime style tune on my classical

Well, Jay, you did it again. Fine job of guitaring. That's a tricky one to play to get all the phrasing and all the notes in the right place. You did it very well. Very clean.
But you really hurt me man. 75+ years old? I'll be there soon enough. You don't have to rub it in.
Thanks,
Richard

Good job Jay! Not only is the playing superb, the recording is also very well done. Your guitar tone is appropriately bright and also very crisp; sounds great.

Jay,
You impress me more with every new tune you post. Nola was always my favorite Les Paul tune and even Les would tip his hat to you on your rendition... BRAVO!

thank you,
i didnt mean to hurt any old timers feelings
i play in the land of grey hair here in southwest florida. the average age down here is DEAD!!! ha ha....no i think the average age of people that watch me on my gigs are 60-80 yrs old. they pick some really tough tunes from time to time for me to learn. it really makes me feel good when i can put songs like Nola and Blue Angel, etc together and the crowd likes them.
i tell them, if i can flat pick it, and do the song justice, i will learn it.
just had to share this one with you all.
by the way....i'm nearing 50 myself. dont know how much longer my fingers and wrists will hold out, so i'm recording everything i learn to prove to my grandkids that i use to pick a bit one time long ago.
