NAD: Tubemeister demo

  1. Hey all,

I got myself one of those Hughes and Kettner Tube Meisters the other day. 18 watt head version. I've been playing with it for a few hours, and man, this amp is something else. Having used only the speaker simulator and hooking it up to my computerspeakers it is a different feel than a normal speakercab, but nevertheless it sounds incredible! I put together a 30 second surf rock thing to show what it sounds like:

    Tube Meister Redbox tone test

This is the clean channel, with a boss FDR for some extra grit, and my modded Danelectro Spring King in the FX loop.

The mono track was copied to 3 tracks with a 20ms delay and a hard pan (left and right) and the center track got a boost in the lower frequencies for more thump.

I'm gonna play some more, :).

    Cheers,

    Jan

  2. Does sound good. Now give us something w/o pedals in the chain.

  3. Sounds goods and I dig your style....keep on truckin'...and post some mpre of your music Tidalwave-Sideburns.

  4. That sounded good and it sure is eye catching.

  5. Thanks, you guys.

I'll try and record some clips without any pedals. Comparing it to the Tubeman I was using up until now for recordings I can tell the difference in sound quality isn't that drastic, though the Tube Meisters Red Box seems to have more sparkly highs, and a better balanced sound, especially on the cleans.

For comparison I uploaded a song I was working on for the band to my ultimate guitar profile:

This is the Tube Man, 2nd channel, with some reverb, hard pans eq added afterwards. This is my favorite song to play with the band, the walking bass part really gets a response from the crowd, :). The drums could use a little less room, and the bass slap is a bit too loud, but oh well.
