Hey guys, here's a new song I'm writing and working on, but the vocal track hasn't been finished yet. I'm wondering if you have any comments with my progress so far? The guitars were the SSLVO with flatwounds and the Country Club. Thanks for listening!
My new original song - Thanks for listening to the noise!

Man! That is a BIG sound!!! Crisp and clear. Very well done and great use of effects. I really enjoyed it. Also your drumming is getting better with each clip.
You sure are producing a lot these days. Making good use of your time. (Or you're not getting any sleep.)

Wow Chris. That's not my bag; but I'm kinda diggin' that. BIG sound. You're getting a pretty good handle on that Sonar 7. Great job.

Nice noise, Wenzel. This is movie theme stuff. I especially love the dynamics, not often evident these days.

Thanks guys!!! That is actually my drummer playing the drums, I wish I was that good.
I did play the guitar and bass and did the mixing so far. Thanks for the comments on the mixing and the BIG sound. I have a melody for the lyrics so far, but haven't had time to get them down yet. Sonar is an awesome program too.
Gretschiam, the dynamics are what I strive for. I don't like lifeless music, at least not my own if I can help it. Sometimes you do a poor job of mixing and lose them, but I strive to retain them as much as possible.
Anyway, I'll post an update once the song is 100% finished. That's my fender blues deluxe amp used here BTW. The bass is going direct with post processing. The guitar on the left is the SSLVO and the guitar on the right, including the wah wah solo is the country club. I was trying to feature the Americana in there on lead, but it kept feeding back!
Gresco, I think I'm not getting much sleep these days... I'm working on a cd, a painting, the family stuff and work. The only way I think I ever get the time is by pre-planning out what I want to do in my head and that way when I get in the studio I can get straight to work instead of tinkering around with little to no progress. That's my best tip for recording. I try to record a whole song within an hour if possible, but sometimes it takes longer. The Beatles recorded Please Please me in 12-14 hours, so obviously anything can be done IMO...

Although I'm an old fart and am not really into heavily distorted tones and gimmicky effects, I actually liked this tune Chris. Very well done and a HUGE sound. I agree with gretschiam about it sounding like a movie theme. Good work, young man! You're quite an accomplished player and producer.

I think that the lead guitar part could be a tad louder.. I mean, where you are using that effect.. (wah or something?)
But overal I like it! :D
You really inspire me to make up stuff myself.. Now just need something to record it :P

Chris strikes again. All spot on. Just a thought on the lead... the wah seemed a little whispy as compared to the depth of the rythmn and bass. Have you considered a more mid rangey distorted sustain on Lead?
Now I can't wait for the vocals to finish it out!

I'm neither aesthetically qualified to critique music or technically qualified to talk about audio engineering, but this tune is inspiring to this aspiring Grestch layman. Thanks for sharing!

defintely Weezer overtones..hope you like them...i love them, so this is very cool.
not trying to be too critical, but just a mixing note:
I'm thinking about the hard panning of the guitars, you might want to pan the rythym guitar to both sides during the solo and boost the lead. I've been working with Cubase and just started learning automation and it makes stuff like that a breeze.
as usual it's good stuff!

I'm late to the party - but I'm glad I came. That was really enjoyable Chris - great sound and good guitar.
If I could pick a fault? Vocals not loud enough
