In The Garden

  1. Jesus went in the garden to pray. And he prayed, "Father, if it be Thy will, let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless, not My will, but Thine be done." I am always reminded of that dreadful time when I play this song, but I also feel the serenity of His presence. I hope you are enjoying this time of celebration, and I hope you enjoy this song, my offering for Easter.

  2. The Lord hath risen! Richard, that was just wonderful. I love the way you play on everything you do, but your Gospel music comes from your soul and fills me with joy. Thank you my brother, and HAPPY EASTER.

  3. Thank you, Bear. You mean the world to me, brother. I hope your daughter is much better by morning.

  4. Again very nice Mr Hudson :)

  5. Very nice. Thank you and Happy Easter.

  6. Oh thanks, Richard. Wonderful as always. Making the guitar speak melodies. I hope this will be a tradition, such Sunday concerts. Happy Easter to you all.

  7. I appreciate my GDP brothers and sisters. I will try to have a fresh gospel song for every Sunday morning as long as my imagination holds out and time permits. It is one of my most favorite things to do, especially the old hymns, to try to put a somewhat different wrinkle on what you may have been accustomed to hearing. As Strummerson pointed out in another thread, this is an unusual weekend in that Passover and Easter are on the same weekend this year. My very best wishes to you all as we celebrate in our own ways this weekend.

    Blessings.

  8. Thanks Richard. It's beautiful.

  9. Beautiful as always Rich, Happy Easter everyone!

  10. Happy Resurrection Day, Richard! Thank you for another wonderful rendition!

  11. That was really nice to wake up to! Thanks for sharing your wonderful talents.

  12. Thank you, what a sweet way to share the Easter Message.

  13. Thanks Richard, that is one of my favorite gospel songs, we had it sung at my dad's funeral...

  14. Beautiful

    :)
  15. One of my favorites Thank You

  16. Awesome playing for an awesome (literally) day!

  17. Thank you, Richard, for that wonderful Easter gift!

  18. Sure like it Richard. A friend of mine is doing a memorial for his stepfather in Scotland and requested this song. I'm going to send him your version.

  19. Thank you. I worked up this basic arrangement some time ago, but I have always done it on nylon string with no accompaniment, but it just seemed so natural to put Duanes style at the key change, and the acoustic rythym along with the bass added what I was looking for. All of your comments work together to make me want to try harder.

Burch, I am honored. Thank you. My condolences to your friend.
