Vintage Gretsch Guitars

White Falcon 1980 Chrome

1

I bought a White Falcon. It was built in April 1980. All the Hardware is chrome not gold plated. The binding is black instead of gold sparkle. Does someone knows something about the guitar ?

2

I Bet its a custom order. Its gorgeous. Love it ;)

3

That is one of the best double cut Falcons I've ever seen. How does it play?

4

It is like the normal White Falcon. Very low action, sounds beautiful.

5

More pics of the silver falcon please what's the headstock look like?

6

Here is a picture of the headstock.

9

That's a stunner. I've a feeling I've seen it before though.

11

I don´t know. As far I can see, everything looks original to me.

12

Wonderful looks I love a Baldwin I want it

13

Looks like someone didn't want any "Sparkly Stuff" on their custom order - not even on the "Gretsch" logo on the headstock.

14

Man! That's special! Good on ya!

15

That is a BEAUTIFUL Falcon and a rare example....

The photos show two different Bigsbys -- which one is on your guitar?

These are two different guitars. Both were built in 1980. One has chrome and the other one has gold hardware. I own both guitars.

19

That's nicer with less fancy stuff!

20

Funny, the black binding made me think of the Greco WF 140.

But your guitar is a stereo model though ,never seen a Greco stereo. Or one with the Burns gear box truss rod adjustment.

Sharp looking guitar sir.

Great looking guitar and looks to be in fantastic shape!

That's cool you have the "twins" - one in gold and one in silver. Yukon Cornelius would approve :)
