Vintage V-Cut B3 vs Modern Counter Part

1

Other than the threaded string pins, what's the difference?

2

The earliest V-style Bigsby units (B3 included) had the Philips head bolt in the swivel.

3

Thanks. What about the hinged screw plate on the tail end, same shape?

The nut on the swivel stud/bolt is different as well. A lot of the vintage units had two non-locking nuts locked together, and a small spring to give tension on the arm. Early B3s (pre V-cut I BELIEVE) had a knurled thumbwheel.

That actually did last into the V-cut era. Here it is on a '59 V-cut.

Yes. The V-cut B3 had the small triangular end plate from the get go, unlike the B6, that had a larger rounded plate from '59 to '61. The pre-V-cut B3, on the other hand, had a more rounded plate.
