Vintage Gretsch Guitars

NGD 54/55 6120

1

I’m the second owner of this incredible old lady. First batch of 6120s with a 16475 serial number.

The B3 is original to the guitar. Came with the western strap and ultra cool two latch early palamino case.

it will be over to visit with Curt. Needs the standard neck set that these almost always do.

the neck is like a an old baseball mitt that’s perfectly broken in from years of playing.

Happy to be its caretaker for a good long while.

More photos soon.

The very first 6120 built from the 137XX batch on the left with the original B3.

And on the right the only known production 6120 with a factory B3.

I received some great paper work from the original owners family. I will scan it tomorrow and post it. It’s simply fantastic history

He bought this new in 55' when he was about 17.

This came with the guitar from his funeral. I have a typewritten song from him on his letterhead. Looks to be 50s. Ill scan that soon as well.

But this is is great. When I pass on Id love a obituary like this one. Me with a 6120 in hand. Wow.

25

Another great one. He's resting his arm on the 6120.
