can anyone help..looking for a case like this mid late 50s .used for many large body gretsches 17 INCH..ie: county clubs country gents white falcon ect.. purple with gretsch banner. THANKS

I know you are probably looking for a matching era correct case but, why not have someone like Cedar Creek build you custom case. You could probably source, or have made, the banner & have Cedar Creek make you a much better case that is a close match. I'm just thinking in terms of protection. As we have all seen, some of these cases have a lot of "mojo", but aren't in the greatest shape, nor will they do the job they are intended. I love my Cedar Creek Tweeds. They are above & beyond anything TKL makes.

I might have a vintage 17" Tweed case for sale sometime in the near future. Would you perhaps be interested in that?

I bought my TKL Cowboy Case with banner and Gretsch nameplate on the exterior....I asked Cedar Creek if they could build with a banner and Gretsch nameplate, but they said that they weren't licensed to do that...I think that Black Rider Guitars may be able to find one like that, but not 100% sure...

yes its a bit of a mission john mcdonald ..but they made them for many of the 17 inch models ..generic you might say! i try black rider now ..thanks

I AM LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT CASE FOR MY '54 6192 PRE COUNTRY CLUB. I CAN FIND A GRETSCH G6242L AND A G6244 FOR SALE. BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE INTERIOR DIMENSIONS. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF EITHER OF THESE CASES WILL WORK?

Hi Linda... can't help on your case question, but if your Gretsch model 6192 is in fact a 1954 example, it's an official Country Club, as that version (of the previous Electro II model 6192-3) was introduced in late 1953. If it doesn't have the T-roof logo on the headstock, and still retains the Synchromatic headstock, it's a '51, '52 or early '53 example. Love to see it if you have a photo!

But that might be because it's deeper than the 59 Annie that is in there now and I remembered the guitar was a bit loose......
Right now I'm thinking about if I'll let it go or keep it.

hi danman thanks for the reply..i managed to find one,friend of mine in chicago found me a real clean one ..ill post some pics up with the falcon in it..looks sweet deep purple linning with gretsch banner,now on the hunt for 17 tweed for my 54 country club! amongst other bits thanks for the update much appreciated.vv

No problem. And great that you found a case.
This one is with the deep purple lining and Gretsch banner too. And with the G in the top on the inside. Man, these are beautiful cases.
