Thanks for posting this.
Interesting, and salutary to remember that Brian was such an important Stone. However, the narrator appears to say Vox guitars were made in Dartmouth, instead of Dartford!
Brian Jones was critical in giving the Stones their original gravitas. I love all the early soul covers the Stones did, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Solomon Burke, etc.
That was an interesting point about the relative availability Gretsch imports versus other US manufacturers. I wonder if that didn't play a part in why such a fair number of British 60s bands had Gretsch guitars. My one peeve: It's annoying when vintage Gretsch guitars' model numbers are written or stated as starting with "G", as in "G6118".
Interesting. The early Stones first couple of albums with all the R&B covers are my favorites. Thanks
Yep, loved the early Stones with Brian.
After Brian was out of the band, my attention for them fell to almost nothing.
Please help support the Gretsch Pages through Paypal. It's quick, easy, and much appreciated!
