I subscribe to a lot of oddball guitar and music groups on FB and they just pop up. Like that Sal Salvador pic the other day, some of the other folks here must too, lol.
Well, that's the second positive I've heard about FB, but I still ain't gonna do it. After hearing the artists of Excello I can't listen to the Rolling Stones without wincing a little, the originals are so good.
It's shite for the most part. I use it to promote my music and stay in touch with some other GDP and music pals, but you aren't missing anything. I wish there was some other platform.
Seasick Steve is a Gretsch player from a long time ago. He had a Roundup as a kid and he regrettably sold it a little less than a long time ago. He came across this one which unfortunately has a little dovetail issue. Here's a picture and a link to the repair.
Phil Lynott... and the look on his face suggests that he knows he's got a sweet axe!
I'm pretty sure that's the one also used by Johnny Thunders & Joe Strummer, I'm also convinced that it had been owned by Stevie Marriott. Marriott's still had the Caddy tailpiece but I've got a theory where the Bigsby came from.
Posted this in another thread but thought to share it here as well. Most probably know that Stephen Stills plays Gretsch, but I hadn’t seen Chris Hillman with a Gretsch prior to seeing this ...

Here’s a young kid in a band called Starcrawler that plays a couple of Gretsch guitars....Henri Cash. And you can see at the bottom of the screenshot he gives a shout BZ.

It's always refreshing to hear people stand up and say things like this once in awhile, even after all these years have passed.
Priceless

Incredible photo of Curly Williams with a very early Rancher and Spud Goodall with the Falcon.
And this is a fantastic interview with Spud. Terrific, funny, and informative with lotsa name dropping. So worth a read.

It's a dial-up mute single-cut Falcon. Not too hard to believe it might be the only one of its species, or close to it.
It's a double cut Falcon, Afire.
And Joe's again.

Well, there you go. I don't know why I assumed single cut. So maybe not quite as much of a singularity, but still pretty uncommon.
Yep, never did hear anything about this one.
Not sure if it was Hillman's or if he was just "using" it for a time.
Looks like it was sitting in the corner of an old smokey bar compared to the one Stills is playing.
Morty "The Guitar Man" Marker. We may have discussed this instrument before - looks like it was modded.

I’ve been drooling over his Firebird Jet since the 80s.
