the 7660 is the Baldwin (1970's) version of the Chet Atkins model. If you want to know the exact date give the serial number. It is worth much less than the earlier models, and of course the price is largely dependent on originality and condition. I think nice ones should sell for around $ 1800-2000; and a bit more if you are a big name vintage guitar dealer ;-) See: http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDetails.aspx?Item=1953994
In UK and Europe a bit more probably
thankiees for the help

If you'd like to see the catalog entries for this model check out:

And page 4 of the 1978 catalog
Hi boobie (that's kinda awkward to say...)
Does your #7660 have the silver or gold hardware package? They can be found with both. If it's late enough, it won't have a stand-by switch.
What's the serial #? That will tell you exactly what month and year your baby was produced.
I agree with the estimate above. I have a friend who's been trying to sell theirs for a year, and has been frustrated by the soft market.
how would i tell from the sereal numba ?
yude luk it up in da cereal numma list at dis sight
it ant on there
well my real name is bobby
but im betta known as boobie
r u sayin da numma ant on her, or ant on this site?
gotta luk aroun a little but the info is heah: http://gretschpages.com/serial-numbers/
I do not have any dates that are certain but here are some of the changes seen in the 1970s. The given dates are pure guesses on my part.
open to closed tuners (72-?)
Orange to amber (72?)
closed to open f holes (72?)
gold to chrome hardware (73?)
standby switch eliminated (73-74?)
24.5" to 25.5" scale (76-77?)
3-4K ohm to 8K ohm pickups (78-79?)
boobie:
well my real name is bobby

Canadian, eh Boobie?
Bobby,
Your serial number is date coded. The first digit is the month of production and the second is the year. So if your number was 4-5174, it would translate to April of '75.
Hey Antik... are you sure about the change in scale length and pu rating? Where might I research that?

In the 1975 catalog the scale length is said to be 24.5" and in the 1978 catalog it changed to 25.5"
For the pickups, there is a late 70s advert mentioning newly designed 8K ohm pickups
Thanks Ken... not sure I trust a catalog that refers to the "Bixby" tailpiece.
no im english :S
Those 8k pickups are the ceramics, I take it?
the guitar is the one in my picture dno if it helps at all but thats her
Why do those catalogs sas Bixby instead of Bigsby ??
Does the same cataloge list a string ferrule as a string Ferrigno?
