I was watching this bid but never expected it would go for this price! The binding looks quite bad though.

The Guitar's hardware alone is worth the winning bid.
Vikings are underrated guitars.
A bargain.

It may be the economy but it seems prices on E-bay for guitars have dropped. I've sold a few recently for several hundred below what they would have sold for even a few months ago, below what guide books say they're worth and (unfortunately) sometimes less than what I paid.

Hey all... I've been a lurker here for a bit and finally signed up. Just a few comments on e-bay in general. First, you can keep your collapsing brokerage houses and failing mortgage giants. There is probably no better indicator of what the economy is truly like than what things are selling for on E-bay. Regardless of an item's value, people have less money to bid with, it sells for less. Also, late summer/early fall tends to be "calm before the storm" time on e-bay. People haven't geared up for holiday spending (which looks to be leaner this year, anyway), but I'd be willing to bet that some of those deflated prices that you see now will pick up again between mid-October and Christmas. Sorry if it appears that I am restating the obvious, but that's what I do... ;-)

I just sold a vintage GI Joe "Secret Of The Mummy's Tomb" set for $150 so it can't be all that bad!

Not to derail... but speaking of Ebay steals, this '60 6119 for under $1800 seems like a nice price for this guitar. What am I missing ?
